It is said that oranges were brought on Columbus’ second voyage to the Americas and settlers began to quickly cultivate the orange trees.

Credit to our name is given to a priest in Chapala, Jalisco who began cultivating orange trees in 1562 and soon after, there were so many orange trees, “the entire town looked like an orchard” and had delicious aromas of oranges.

To pay homage to our source, we named our product Jalisco 1562, an orange liqueur with 3 simple ingredients: oranges, agave nectar, and agave.
